Emma, Dublin native, is a trained classical and musical theatre teacher who has been teaching for 10 years. Emma’s love of singing began at a very young age.
She began piano lessons at the age of 9 and then singing lessons soon after that. She undertook her Singing and Piano exams with The Royal Irish Academy of Music.
She holds a Bachelors of Music and a Masters in Musicology and Performance from Maynooth University. She studied voice under Robert Alderson at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama and Margaret Broome in Maynooth University. She has been a member of the many choirs including; Maynooth Chamber choir, Schola Greogoriana and the Dublin Bach Singers. She has performed in the National Concert Hall, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and in music festivals in Prague and Belgium.
Emma found her love of teaching near the end of her studies and soon became a full time teacher. Her teaching has taken her to America where she taught in the prestigious Long Lake Camp of the Arts and also to the UK, where she lived and ran a successful music teaching business in Cambridge for a number of years.
Emma is highly involved in working with Stage schools and has even been apart of a successful world record attempt of the most performances of a musical across the world at any one time with Stagecoach Saffron Walden. Emma is very passionate about teaching singing and feels that the benefits from singing lessons reach far beyond the classroom and help students in their daily lives.
Emma’s personalised teaching style aims to tailor lessons to each student’s individual needs. Emma believes in providing a safe and comfortable environment, which gives students the space to explore their musicality and grow their confidence.
